I was thinking that they should come out with a “Jazz Guitar Hero” game, but I think the jazz would be too technical for everybody to play. They would probably have to sell a different guitar with more buttons since jazz uses all the chords. I don’t know, I love jazz so I think it would be a cool idea. I would definitely buy it; maybe we should start a petition or something.

i dont think jazz would translate particulairly well to a twitch reflection based game like guitar hero
most jazz songs are also far too long for most players to keep up with
i doubt it wil be populair
they wil also have to include songs from albums like kind of blue and the shape of jazz to come
afterall whats jazz with out at least those two ?
and neither feature any kind of guitars
alt sax trumpet drums and a bass yes but no guitar
I think it’s reasonable to watch for more fusion-y type things to pop up, but jazz is really dominated by brass, horns, and piano… unless they’re doing guitar-centric arrangements of stuff, you’re not going to see Jazz Hero soon.
Of course, they could easily make a wind controller (they’re fairly common as MIDI input devices), but it would be a risky investment as jazz doesn’t have much of an audience any more (particularly amongst those who play video games)
I’d love to see some Allan Holdsworth or Charlie Hunter stuff though… Harmonix studio isn’t too far from my house, and I know a couple guys there. I’ll ask them if they’re ever considered it.
I’ve never thought about that before. I don’t generally listen to jazz but I respect it as a good music genre. No offense but I doubt that Neversoft and whoever else on the GH team would make anything short of a metal looking GH. Wish they’d go back to the original look of the game.
